Miraculin How it Works ?

Exactly how miraculin works is baffling scientists !

Some say it blocks out the taste receptors that usually taste sour bitter and acidic flavors, other scientist say that the miraculin 'rewires' your tongue.

Miraculin itself is a protein found in the miracle fruit, the miraculin is released when the miracle fruit is chewed, or in the case of freeze dried powder or tablets, when the powder or tablet dissolves.

The miraculin binds itself to the tongue coating the taste receptors, the result is that ir becomes a sweet inducer, making a variety of foods taste sweet.
